From breakneck beats to serene and tranquil melodies, this one will have you reaching for your sugar cubes in no time!
The Island
This album will grab your needle by the mane and rein it in with a barrage of bits so hard that will blow out of you out of your seat! Jonah Senzel’s emergence into video game music composition with this album is an absolute treat to listen to. His use of heavy synthesizers and electronic buzzing hits every bit-sized nerve center in your brain. Jonah's melancholy prose will lead you down a symphonic trip down chiptune lanes, leaving you banging your head along every revolution of your table. Synopating bits will vie for shear domination over your ears as this album takes you through the peaks and valleys of this cacophony of sounds that just blends so beautifully! One can't help but jam along as the needle crushes through the grooves in an unabashed tempo. Coming out of nowhere with this eccentric and, quite frankly, genius arrangement of tracks, Jonah Senzel is one artist that you should keep an eye on, because I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next!
Escape
Black Screen Records really hit the mark on this one; I don’t think I would have ever heard of this game or album without this release. It was an absolute treat to be able to buy the soundtrack and get the game to play at the same time. This cohesiveness between the two mediums made this super special to me. Mastering on this album is truly superb, filled with diverse sounds and a rocking bassline. The design for this release was carried out by the game’s developer and mastermind in all things Ponies: Daniel Mullins. The imagery used in the game is reborn on the vinyl’s packaging which truly captures the spirit of the game and music it envelops!
